KUALA LUMPUR: Australian metalcore band I Killed The Prom Queen has been released from a Malaysian immigration detention center after being held for performing without valid permits, one of its members said. Guitarist Jona Weinhofen said on Twitter the band was freed without charge. “Freedom,” he tweeted on Monday. “A lot of press is stating we were deported. For the record we were released with no action against us.” He added that the head of Malaysia’s Immigration Department apologized, but said the band would not likely be back in Malaysia any time soon. “Sorry Malaysia but after this horrible experience I don’t think we will return in a hurry,” he tweeted.
