Austrian tourist drowns in Bontoc river

BAGUIO CITY: An Austrian tourist drowned at Chico River in Bontoc, Mountain Province, on Tuesday morning, a belated police report said.

Judith Kies, according to the report, was with five other foreigners and a local guide on a whitewater ride when they were thrown off after their raft rammed into a rock. Kiesl and another of the foreigners went missing for around half an hour until they were found in a calmer spot of the river and rushed to the Bontoc General Hospital.
