Aviation police detain American passenger

An American was detained overnight at the Police-Aviation Security Group (Avsegroup) office after he snarled and spit on two airline passenger service officials at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 2. Michael Barry Tallent 2nd, 31, was irked after arriving late for his Philippine Airlines PR102 flight to Los Angeles on Thursday night and found the check-in counter closed. Two ground officials – Wilbert Banuela and Adelma Dayrit – explained the protocol but instead, Tallent hurled invectives and even spit on them. Tallent was released from police custody on Friday after Banuela and Dayrit failed to show up for inquest proceedings.
