• Ayala Automotive Holdings takes part in Ayala Olympics 2016

Three powerful automotive brands under the banner of Ayala banded together and joined the different Ayala subsidiaries such as Ayala Foundation, Ayala Coop, Ayala Health, Ayala Group Legal, HR Mall, Affinity X, ARC, and Integreon, as part of Ayala Corporation team at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan during the recently concluded Ayala Olympics.

About 700 employees from Ayala Automotive trooped to Petron Marilao on board various Honda, Isuzu, and Volkswagen models before heading to the Philippine Sports Stadium.
Different colors of Honda City, Jazz, HR-V, CR-V and Mobilio, Isuzu D-Max and mu-X, and Volkswagen Beetle, Golf, Polo HB, Jetta, Passat and Tiguan brightened the North Luzon Expressway in this motorcade. The Ayala Automotive crowd then gathered in the largest stadium of the country to showcase their company pride and cheer for Ayala Corporation team in this group-wide competition that takes place every four years. The event kicked off with the parade of athletes led by Ayala Corporation Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Jaime Augusto Zobel de Ayala, and president and Chief Operating Officer Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

Competing in 23 events that included run, relay, and the much-anticipated cheerdance competition are the six main teams of the group, namely, Ayala Corporation, Ayala Land Inc. (ALI), Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Globe Telecom, Manila Water Company (MWC), and Integrated Micro-Electronics (IMI).

IMI regained its glory and emerged as the 2016 Ayala Olympics over-all champion with BPI and ALI securing the second runner-up and third runner-up slots, respectively. The Ayala Olympics began in 1988 where IMI bagged the first championship while MWC won three-peat in 2004, 2008, and 2012.

Starting in 1991, Ayala owns the distinction of establishing the first Honda dealership in the country. Under the banner of Honda Cars Makati Inc., the company now has five strategically located branches in Metro Manila – Makati, Pasig, Alabang, Shaw, Global City, and Manila Bay, making it the biggest dealer group in the entire network of Honda Cars Philippines.

In 1996, Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation ventured into the world of diesel engine technology and opened the pioneer branch of Isuzu Automotive Dealership Inc. (IADA) located in Alabang. Catering to the growing demand for durable and fuel-efficient modes of transportation for business and personal use, IADI continuously forged ahead and opened three more dealerships in Luzon, namely, in Cavite, Pasig, and Rizal.

The year 2012 marked a very important year for Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation as it bagged the distributorship of Germany-based Volkswagen in the Philippines. Set to deliver nothing but the best from Europe’s largest carmaker, Volkswagen Philippines acts as a conduit for the growing automotive demand in the country and houses these premium European cars in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City; Quezon Avenue, Quezon City; and in Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

Striking the perfect mix of having formidable brands under its belt plus dealerships located in key areas in Metro Manila, Ayala Automotive Holdings Corporation is set to continuously reinforce its strong presence in the local automotive industry. Sharing Ayala’s vision to pioneer the future, Ayala-owned dealerships of Honda, Isuzu, and Volkswagen are all geared toward transforming the Filipinos’ way of live with the rides they offer and the kind of service they deliver that is uniquely and simply Ayala.
