Ayala Corp.-led Integrated Micro-Electronics Inc. (IMI) recently concluded production and shipment of 100,000 multipurpose automotive cameras for Germany-based Robert Bosch GmbH.
Bosch, a multinational engineering and electronics company, is the world’s largest supplier of automotive components as measured by its 2011 revenues.
“In January of this year, we renewed our preferred supplier status for Bosch. In October, we achieved the milestone of 100,000 multipurpose automotive cameras produced for them. We closely collaborate in steering both our companies through rough times,” Arthur Tan, IMI president and chief executive officer, said.
Andreas Reppich, engineering director at Bosch Chassis Systems and Control, on the other hand, lauded IMI for being able to reach the milestone within only a year, given the complexity of the product and its manufacturing process.
“The strong partnership between Bosch and IMI continues to yield quality products,” Reppich said.
