The Philippine Azkals will be up against unbeaten North Korea for their fourth match in the joint 2019 Asian Cup and 2018 World Cup qualifiers at the Kim Il-Sung Stadium in Pyongyang at 4 p.m. today.

The team, who are currently ranked no.3 in Group G with two wins and a loss, will face a tall task of subduing the North Koreans in their 70,000-seater stadium.

After bowing to Uzbekistan in their last World Cup qualifier match, the Azkals now aim to tarnish the pristine record of the North Koreans. But the Philippine team will be missing the services of striker Javier Patiño, defenders Simone Rota and Juani Guirado who are all nursing injuries.

The Azkals have concluded their short training camp with a training session at the Seosan Football Stadium in Pyongyang on Tuesday.

The Azkals under coach Thomas Dooley have already started training as early as last week but with a depleted line-up as homegrown Azkals were only able to unite with their foreign teammates during a layover in Beijing.

Win or lose, the Azkals will have fly to Manama, Bahrain to battle the Bahrainis on October 13.
