The Philippine Azkals will clash with Australian League team Perth Glory FC in an exhibition match at the Quirino Stadium in Ilocos Sur, 6 p.m. today.
The match will be the first for the Azkals since March, after their final game in the group stage of the joint FIFA World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers.
Azkals’ lineup against Perth Glory FC will be composed of veterans and newcomers that includes team captain Phil Younghusband, his brother James Younghusband, Simone Rota, Misagh Bahadoran, Dennis Villanueva, Amani Aguinaldo, OJ Clarino, Miguel Tanton, John Kanayama, Jinggoy Valmayor, Daniel Gadia, Shirmar Felongco, Dominic Del Rosario, Ian Clarino, Enzo Cheng, Ashley Flores, Val Calvo, Ruben Doctora, Jerry Barbaso and Camelo Tacusalme.
Global FC backup goalkeeper Nick O’donnell will be manning the posts with Jun-jun Badelic as substitute.
Philippine Football Federation (PFF) technical director and national team assistant coach Aris Caslib will be handling the coaching duties in the absence of Tho- mas Dooley.
Perth Glory FC will be playing their third game in Philippines as part of their preparation for the start of their campaign in their mother league in October.
Perth elicited a scoreless draw from United Football League (UFL) top seeds Global FC on Wednesday before scoring a 2-1 win against the UFL All-Stars on Saturday.
