The Philippine Football Federation released the 19-man lineup of the Azkals that will play against the Kyrgyzstan team in an exhibition match in Bishkek on September 6.
The contingent will be a mixture of foreign and local standouts among them Azkals skipper Phil Younghusband, Loyola Meralco Sparks FC players James Younghusband and Simon Greatwich, Kaya FC’s Jovin Bedic, Kenshiro Daniels and Junior Muñoz, Stallion FC’s Fitch Arboleda and Amani Aguinaldo, Dennis Villanueva, Misagh Bahadoran and Paolo Bugas, Global FC’s Patrick Deyto as well as Ceres La Salle FC’s Kevin Ingresso, Roland Muller, Manuel Ott and Martin Steuble.
Daisuke Sato of Romanian side CSM Politehnica Iasi, Fil-Australian Iain Ramsay and Neil Ethridge, goalkeeper of English third tier club Walsall FC will also play in the Bishek friendly.
The goodwill game will be the first international match of the Azkals since March after failing to schedule friendlies in the June window. An Azkals against Turkmenistan friendly was cancelled early June.
The Azkals are also scheduled to host Bahrain at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan on October 7 before battling the Kyrgyz anew for the second leg of the friendly series at home on Novermber 9.
The friendlies are part of the Philippines’ preparation for its matches against Singapore, Indonesia and Thailand in the group stage of the biennial Suzuki Cup later this year.
