Members of the Philippine national football team led the final leg of Pru Life UK’s Football For A Better Life grassroots football program held at the Army Support Command (ASCom) Field in Taguig which culminated on Sunday.
The program, aimed to introduce the sport and help improve the game of the youth, was started as early as March and has been to several parts of the country including Iloilo, Pampanga, Negros Occidental, Dumaguete, Naga, Laguna, Palawan, and Tarlac.
Local-based Azkal stars Daisuke Sato, Simone Rota, Dennis Villanueva, England-based Rob Gier facilitated the program clinics together with ex-national team standout Chieffy Caligdong and program director Chris Thomas on Saturday.
Pru Life UK’s grassroots football program was attended by a total of 120 boys and girls from the Gawad Kalinga football program and from the different clubs inside Metro Manila.
On the final day of the two-day program, members of Nomads FC won the under-12 category championship after blazing to their opponents in their age level.
Consequently, the youth football program will be featured in the second edition of the Pangarap Kong World Cup football documentary that will be aired on ABS-CBN Sports and Action on November 17.
