Azkals’ success ‘planned and expected’ – Gier

Veteran Azkals defender Rob Gier said that their recent success in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers was “planned and expected.” Gier added that he was pleased that the team achieved its goal of starting strong, winning their first two games, but he stressed that they cannot lose their focus for their next games. “It is imperative that we do not get complacent because the next three games are extremely difficult and will ultimately decide if we progress or not,” Gier said. Gier, 34 years old and plays for English club Ascot United FC in the professional level, has been a vital defender of national football team since joining the Azkals in 2009.
