The Philippine Football Federation (PFF) has announced that the Azkals will be in action in a FIFA friendly in October as their buildup for the AFF Suzuki Cup continues.

The football body said in a statement on Wednesday that the Azkals will battle Bahrain at the Philippine Sports Stadium in Bocaue, Bulacan on October 7.

The Azkals and the Bahrainis are somewhat on an equal footing as far as the latest FIFA ranking is concerned, as the former is 124th in the world while the latter is at 126th.

The Azkals are preparing for their upcoming friendlies in September against Turkmenistan and Kyrgyzstan.

The United Football League gave way to the Azkals’ training as the league postponed the games on the dates that will conflict with the training, beginning with the scheduled Wednesday fixtures.
