Baby sees light in Saudi-Manila flight

This baby girl who weighed about seven pounds saw the light of day in mid-air on a homecoming flight from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.

A woman gave birth to a baby girl while on a flight from Saudi Arabia to Manila.

The woman who was later identified as 30-year-old Salima Juda-man, an overseas Filipino worker, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) on board a Saudia Airlines flight SV-872 on Tuesday afternoon.

According to airport pediatrician Dr. Maria Theresa Azores, Judaman told her that she was aided by fellow passengers and cabin crew members. She delivered a normal and healthy baby girl that weighed about three kilograms.

Judaman admitted she came from the so-called tent city in Jeddah, Saudia Arabia and had stayed in the place for about two months before she left for Manila.

She, however, did not further elaborate who paid her plane ticket back home.

She thanked the airport medical staff for the help that they extend to her and the baby.

Airport officials said that Judaman was fetched by her relatives who came at the NAIA and later boarded a taxi bound for Quezon City.
