Baby Tamaraws stay perfect in UAAP


TITLEHOLDER Far Eastern University (FEU) defeated De La Salle-Zobel, 3-0, to remain unbeaten in the penultimate day of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 78 juniors football eliminations at the Moro Lorenzo Football Field.

Vincent Albert Parpan found the back of net in the 42nd minute while leading goalscorer Chester Gio Pabualan doubled the Baby Tamaraws lead four minutes after the restart.

John Villaseñor then sealed the win for FEU with a 87th minute goal.

Ateneo, behind Alain Tanchuan’s 8th minute strike, stayed in second place with a 1-0 victory over University of Santo Tomas (UST).

The Baby Tamaraws now have a maximum of 15 points on top of the table, while the Blue Eaglets, who blasted the Junior Archers, 6-1, on Wednesday, are in second place with nine points.

La Salle-Zobel, which wound up at No. 2 in the first round, remained at four points in third, while the Tiger Cubs bring up the rear with a point.

On the final day of eliminations on Saturday, De La Salle-Zobel plays UST, while FEU takes on Ateneo in a Finals preview.
