‘Bacollywood Workshops’ back in Bacolod


Bacolod City: The Bacollywood Workshops, now in its 5th year, aim to provide quality and affordable education in the field of acting, filmmaking, make-up for theater and film, and script-writing.

Taking place from April 13 to May 9 at La Consolacion College and at Gallery Orange, the workshops will welcome known actors, filmmakers and producers from Manila who will fly in Bacalod City to serve as instructors and share their expertise in their respective fields.

True to its mission, Bacollywood caters to students who cannot afford to fly to Manila to study filmmaking by offering scholarships to deserving individuals who are interested to learn Film Production, Cinematography, Children’s Theater, Basic Acting, Basic Theater Improvisations, Scriptwriting for Film, and Make Up for Film and Theater.

Peque Gallaga, notable director and scriptwriter, noted that Bacollywood is a “cinema movement” that is “young and dynamic” as pertaining to the modes and attendees of the

“Enrollees are expected to shoot actual short films and produce theatre shows under the guidance of instructors who are practitioners of their field,” says workshop director, Paolo Lindaya.
