• Bacolod cites Manila Times for top model city recognition

THE City of Bacolod has expressed appreciation to The Manila Times for recognizing it as the Top Philippine Model City, validating its reputation as the most liveable urban center in the country.

A resolution unanimously passed by the Sangguniang Panlungsod (city council), presided over by Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran, said that with the award conferred on the city during the Times’ Philippine Model Cities Forum and Awards, the City of Bacolod stands to benefit in terms of tourism and investments.

The award was accepted by Mayor Evelio Leonardia after the forum held at the New World Bay Hotel last May 11.

Bacolod City was also cited recently as The Best City to Live in the Philippines by The Conyo Times 2017. This was in addition to other awards it had received, such as Most Liveable Philippine City by ikwaderno.wordpress.com 2013; and Most Business-Friendly City in the Philippines by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

    1. Try checking the city services next time.

      Blackouts all the time
Water service is sub standard (areas of the city no water during the day)
      Garbage pickup is unreliable
Garbage lines the roads and choke the polluted rivers
Daily Gridlock schools without adequate parking
Businesses on the main roads without adequate parking or no parking lots at all.
Private vehicles parking on the sidewalks and streets blocking traffic
Vendors setting up in the street or on sidewalks under signs of “No vendors allowed”.
      Roosters in residential housing areas
      Dogs roaming the streets
Trikes and pedicabs blasting their radios everywhere they go
Sidewalks broken or missing, Street signs broken or missing
Graffiti widespread on private houses and businesses.

A model city does not have these problems unless the other cities are even worse.
