Starting April 1, 2014, Bacoor City in Cavite will implement through an executive order four days of work a week for all employees in all departments of the city government.
The four days of work from 8 in the morning to 4 in the afternoon will begin April 1, 2014 up to May 31, 2014 and then September 1, 2014 to November 30, 2014.
Bacoor Mayor Strike Revilla on Thursday said the purpose of the four-day work week is, in part, to save on gasoline and electricity consumption.
The shift, he added, will give employees more time to spend with their families especially on Sundays.
Exempted from the local executive order were the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Bureau of Fire Protection, national government agencies government-owned and -controlled corporations and state universities.
