BAGUIO CITY: The country’s summer capital is all set for the influx of visitors for the Holy Week and the rest of the summer season.
City Tourism Officer Benedicto Alhambra said April is the month when the number of Baguio visitors start to peak, either to spend their summer vacation or stay for a few days or weeks and enjoy the cool climate and visit the tourist destinations.
He said that some visit to reflect during the Holy Week and visit churches especially the Baguio Cathedral and attend other religious services and activities.
Alhambra said the city government in partnership with other offices and volunteer groups will give priority to ensure the comfort, safety and security of the visitors.
“Through teamwork of different offices of the city government, we will strictly monitor, implement regulatory measures and conduct other activities that are within our authority and at the same time provide necessary support to the different agencies involved, in ensuring that city visitors will have a good and safe visit,” said Alhambra.
The Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) headed by city director P/SSupt. Rolando Miranda has activated “Implan Summer Vacation” wherein 27 police assistant desks will be placed in the most visited destinations in the city. A total of 359 volunteers will also augment the BCPO regular personnel to maintain peace and order and traffic management.
