BAGUIO CITY: Mayor Mauricio Domogan said the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) together with Serenity in the Steps and other stakeholders are conducting seminars for drug surrenderers to ensure their willingness to undergo reformation. He added that the CSWDO will screen and validate the extent of addiction for rehabilitation and the city will provide medical and financial assistance. The city has not included budget allocation for the construction of a rehabilitation center with the upsurge in the number of those who surrendered. Domogan said they will ask the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency to fund the proposed rehabilitation center in Balenben, Irisan, adding that Baguio General Hospital will also construct its drug center. Some 882 surrenderers are being monitored by the police.
