• Baguio sting busts drug syndicate member


    BAGUIO CITY: Another alleged member of a drug syndicate was arrested on Friday afternoon here, bringing to 119 pushers caught since July 1. Jeremiah Jay Nodalo Abata, alias Jeremiah and Jacko, sold a heat-sealed sachet of shabu to a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Cordillera Autonomous Region (PDEA-Cordillera) poseur buyer in Suello Village, Bakakeng Central. PDEA-Cordillera spokesman Pepe Calulut said also seized from Abata were P8,000 marked money worth and a black mobile phone. Meanwhile, Franklin Bambico, 33, of Mirador village was gunned down by gunman backriding a motorcycle at Lourdes Subdivision. Eyewitness said the victim and his live-in partner were walking on the roadside when the suspects drove by and shot him. Investigators are looking if the killing is drug related.
