The Balikatan Six Reload Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) tournament will unfold on Saturday, 5 p.m. at the Hybrid Yaw-Yan Mixed Martial Arts Training Center, 5th floor Karen Building no. 9 Annapolis Street Cubao, Quezon City.

Organized by veteran fighter and trainer Henry Yap Kobayashi, the event will feature flyweight (120-129 lbs.) and cruiserweight (190-199 lbs.) bouts. One of the most awaited fights in the tournament is the cruiserweight match between Nickson Kola of Hyper MMA Papua New Guinea and Jerwheel Baylon of Hybrid Yaw-Yan Philippines. Besides fighting in MMA, Kola is also a member of Philippine Volcanoes Rugby Team.

The other participating fighters are Jamail Marohon, Mikee, Masamayor, Ramir Lacson, Zeko Zaki Zaghloul, Allan Nestor Fulgar, Kriss Silva, Alex Yabes, Ray Anthony Plaza, Donovan Torres, Jeong Woo Kim, Gino Antonio Decena, Christchan Buentiempo, Mark Palomar, Miguel Samonte, Noly Conchada, Jovanie Bualan, Eric Conchada, Roel Rio, Hanric Paul Pasigue and Leonard Ferrer.

The event’s distinguished guest is Alvin Aguilar, founder of the Universal Reality Combat Championship and dubbed as the Father of MMA in the Philippines. The tournament’s appointed judges are Alfred Gealogo, Marc Aldovino and Punong Lakan Garitony Nicolas, executive director of the Philippine Martial Arts Hall of Fame.
