The rock maestro Bamboo joins young pop rock icon Yeng Constantino in one of the most unique concert collaborations of the year as they prepare for a major concert at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
Tagged B/Y Request: Bamboo and Yeng at The Araneta Coliseum, the concert is set on August 17, and will be the first time that the two musicians will be performing together in a major show.
The concept for the show came about after the two did a cover of the Eurythmics’ original “Here Comes The Rain Again,” on ABS-CBN’s Sunday noontime show ASAP 18. “The more we thought about it, the more it made sense that these singers should do a show together. So we asked Bamboo if he would like to do it, and we all got excited when he said yes. What we actually saw was where the two artists are at this point in their careers,” said Erickson Raymundo, head of the production company.
Since leaving his namesake band and going solo with his certified platinum album No Water, No Moon, Bamboo has embraced the mainstream more and is one of the coaches of the The Voice Of The Philippines. Constantino meanwhile, continues to make her mark in the entertainment industry not only as a performer but as a songwriter as well. Her credible presence on local music was proven by her latest all original set Metamorphosis, which carries today’s radio and video smash hit “Chinito.”
