A bigger, better—and wackier—cast for the all-new ‘Banana Sundae’ is presented to the press

As comedy gag show Banana Split counts down to its third anniversary in February 2016, the growing cast of the ABS-CBN production excitedly announced on Thursday night that they will be taking on a Sunday afternoon time slot beginning November 15.

Airing late Saturday evenings since its inception by director Edgar Mortiz—a spinoff to his highly successful Goin’ Bananas with Christopher De Leon and the late Johnny Delgado and Jay Ilagan—the show promises to be “wackier, funnier, and crazier” as the all-new Banana Sundae.

Making the show wilder and more fun-filled to begin with are the additions of ABS-CBN hottie Jessy Mendiola and comedienne Pokwang, who seemed right at home with the original cast at the press conference.

Nevertheless, mainstays Angelica Panganiban and Jason Gainza’s segments “Krissy TV” and “Ihaw Na!”—featuring their impersonations of Kris Aquino and Boy Abunda—will keep on tickling funny bones, as well as other popular segments like “Kantaranta,” “Baby Luv,” and “Make Me Rap.”

The rest of the cast of Banana Sundae include John Prats, Ryan Bang, Sunshine Garcia, Aiko Climaco, JC De Vera, Pooh, Jobert Austria, and Badji Mortiz.

Helming the show today Edgar Mortiz’ son Bobot, with Linggit Tan-Marasigan serving as the executive in charge of production, Rocky Ubana as executive producer, Willy Cuevas as creative manager, and Roderick Victoria as head writer.
