CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga: A barangay chairman was held up over the weekend of cash worth more than half a million pesos in his lending office in Zaragosa, Nueva Ecija. Police identified the victim as Benigno Mallari, 45, of Barangay Pantoc, Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija. According to investigation, Mallari decided to go back to his office to work at the JEBCOR Capital Lending Philippine Corporation when three men wearing black bonnets and armed with pistols accosted him then ordered Mallari to open the vault. Before fleeing, the suspects hog tied the victim, carting away the money amounting to P548,000 and $55,000. Authorities are conducting follow up operations for the identification and apprehension of the suspects.
