Barangay Treasurer collared in Ilocos Sur


San Fernando City, La Union: The Ilocos Sur Provincial Police arrested Edgar Pablico, a barangay treasurer of San Vicente, Magsingal, Ilocos Sur, after verifying that he masterminded a robbery involving government funds. Based on reports reaching Camp B/Gen. Oscar M. Florendo, it appeared that Pablico was riding together with Barangay Chairman MarioUrban on a motorcycle when they were stopped and robbed by two men in Sto. Domingo town, Ilocos Sur. The suspects allegedly pointed a caliber .45 pistol at them and hastily grab a red envelope containing cash amounting to Php135,741.33 and Land Bank check worth Php3,120.49. Chief Superintendent Roman A. Felix, regional director of Police Regional Office 1, said investigation showed that Pablico masterminded the incident, adding that the latter was involved in several anomalous transactions in the town. A complaint for robbery hold-up against Pablico and two (2) John Does was filed before the Prosecutor’s Office.
