BALANGA City: The first bridal hair and make-up competition in the province formed part of the first Bataan wedding fair dubbed as “Traje” that was held recently at the events center of Vista Mall in this city. Some 16 local make-up artists from all over Bataan participated and for one and a half hours turned their young models wearing wedding gowns into completely made-over brides. “This is the first bridal hair and make-up contest in Bataan,” Igi Caluyo, events producer of Philtrade Exhibits, said. The contest had three judges—make-up artists Heidi Forbes Deang and Ralph dela Cruz and designer Joebee Henson. Joshane Castillo with her model Michelle Crisostomo emerged as the grand champion followed by Reden John Sano and his model Kath Liwag as first runner-up and Alamat Esconde and model Charisse Lagman as second runner-up. Lagman got a special prize as model bride of the year. Caluyo said they opened the Bataan wedding fair to showcase wedding essentials that include catering, hotel accommodation, photography, bridal gowns, barong, ladies shoes, wedding rings and hair and make-up.
