BAGAC, Bataan: Preparations are ongoing in this town chosen to host one of the events in next year’s Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit.
Bagac Mayor Ramil del Rosario said construction of the seaport at the Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar where world leaders and dignitaries from 19 countries will convene is scheduled to be finished by June.
Las Casas Filipinas de Acuzar is a world-class resort with hotel and heritage houses coming from various regions in the country.
“The port has to be finished June this year or stood to be washed out during the rainy season,” del Rosario said.
Del Rosario also requested Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Rogelio Singson to allocate more than P250 million for the renovation of the municipal building, widening of Gov. J.J. Linao national road and construction of sidewalk along the poblacion road.
Del Rosario said the present condition of the municipal building is no longer suitable to the employees as well as the public. He said that a portion of the national road from Balanga City to the site of the APEC needs widening to serve as bike lanes.
Bagac is famous for its sandy beaches along the West Philippine Sea.
“With the visit of world leaders and their spouses, our beautiful beaches will be further exposed to the world and that means more tourists will be coming in,” del Rosario said.
