Batang Gilas lost to host Argentina, 71-74, at the end of the preliminary round of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-17 World Cup on Wednesday at the Newell’s Old Boys gym in Rosario, Argentina. It was the team’s third consecutive defeat.
Gerry Abadiano and Terrence Fortea posted 17 points each, while the 7’1 center Kai Sotto notched 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead Batang Gilas. The PH will face unbeaten Canada (3-0) in the round-of-16 on Thursday.
