Batang Gilas suffered a humiliating 62-102 loss to Canada in the Round-of-16 to bow out of contention in the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Under-17 World Cup being held at the Newell’s Old Boys Gym in Rosario, Argentina.
Gerry Abadiano led the Philippines with 19 points. The 7’1 Kai Sotto finished with 16 points and eight rebounds while Raven Angelo Cortez added 10 points.
