The Philippine under-16 national basketball team on Thursday was drawn to play in Group C of the group stage of the 2015 FIBA Asia U16 Championship. This year’s edition of the meet is scheduled to be held from October 29 to November 7 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Known as the Batang Gilas, after the men’s senior national team, the team will battle against North Korea, Bahrain and Thailand in the elimination round. Meanwhile, defending champion China, who defeated the Philippines in last year’s gold medal match, will play in Group D together with India, South Korea and Iraq. Japan, Hong Kong, Kuwait and Malaysia are in Group A while Chinese Taipei, Bangladesh, Lebanon and hosts Indonesia are in Group B.
