Belo acquires FDA-approved non-surgical facelift machine
She’s done it again.
When it comes to acquiring the latest breakthroughs in cosmetic and dermatological procedures, the Philippines’ doctor to the stars Victoria “Vicki” Belo always beats her colleagues to the punch.
As such, her Belo Medical Group launched in grand style what is known as the first “real non-surgical facelift,” the US Food and Drug Administration-approved Thermilift.
Held at the Rizal Ballroom of Shangri-La Makati in the tradition of Belo’s swanky and celebrity-studded gatherings, the revolutionary machine was nevertheless presented in a very detailed manner by Thermi Aesthetics’ vice president for international sales, Barry Rigby.
Rigby began by explaining that the current crop of skin tightening machines work only on the very surface of the skin, when a effective facelift needs to target affect that different layers of the face, namely the skin, fat and muscle.
“Unlike other machine that only treats the top layer of the skin and cannot penetrate the deeper layers, Thermilift is an injectable RF (radio frequency), and as such is the very first and only machine that enters the skin through a thin probe,” he elaborated. “With this we can target the level of tissue that we want, and therefore target wrinkles on the skin, melt the fat on the jowling, or even address the muscle that sags through time to give us the double chin.”
‘The next big thing’
With the launch of Thermilift themed as “the next big thing on skin tightening and rejuvenation,” the event was expectedly graced by show business’ biggest stars.
The ballroom was beautifully styled by Robert Blancaflor in a spring motif with grand floral arrangements at the center of every table, as well as a photo wall bursting with pastel colored blooms.

Belo’s daughter Cristalle Henares hosted the event with heartthrob Tom Rodriguez, and when asked why the launch was grander than usual, revealed that Belo Med’s queen was actually celebrating her birthday that day.
And while the celebrity doctor treated her friends to a lavish luncheon, she also received a very special gift from Thermi Aesthetics as she was awarded as the as the country’s first and only beauty clinic to have the Thermilift, with doctors trained by the procedure’s developer, Dr. Brian Kinney of Beverly Hills.
