A total of 10 teams coming from different beach volleyball tournaments in the country among them Shakey’s V-League, Philippine Super Liga, National Collegiate Athletic Association and University Athletic Association of the Philippines are competing in the tourney.

The Beach Volleyball Republic group is created to promote the sport not just in Metro Manila but in the coastal regions of the country.
“We find it’s very difficult for us to be able to represent a sport kung wala po tayong actual na pool or program. Alam naman po namin na maraming willing na tumulong, it’s just that someone need to spearhead everything,” said Soriano.
Soriano said that she would be delighted to play for the national team if given the opportunity.
“It’s always an honor for anyone to represent her or his country. For me, it’s going to be a humbling experience and honor to represent the Philippines.
