San Beda College-Rizal and De la Salle Greenhills-A moved into a duel unbeaten to determine which team enters the semifinals with a clean mark by trashing their respective foes over the weekend in Group A of the SBP Division of the Best Center’s twin basketball (SBP and Passerelle) tournaments sponsored by Milo at the Xavier School gym.
San Beda demolished Claret School (0-4), 48-15, to join LSGH, which beat Xavier (2-2), 56-35, on top with four straight wins in as many days.
De la Salle-Zobel (2-2) dealt Claret another painful loss, 44-40, in a Sunday game.
Xavier-A, meanwhile, stayed on top of Group B with a fourth straight win at the expense of LSGH-B (1-4), 61-27, also unbeaten Ateneo booked a third win over Lourdes School-QC (2-2), 59-47.
In the Passerelle Division of this tournament also supported by Chris Sports, Ateneo moved a win away from sweeping Group A with a fifth straight win, a 64-47, beating of Claret (1-3), to tie rival LSGH, which routed Quezon City Academy (0-4), 102-23 on top.
St. Augustine International School (2-2) defeated University of Santo Tomas (1-3), 72-60, in the other game.
Group B leader SBC-Rizal is now 4-0 following a 73-60 victory over Notre Dame of Greater Manila (1-4). It was Notre Dame’s second loss for the week after it bowed 58-104 to 3-1 Nazareth School of National University (3-1).
LSGH-B (1-3) quashed DLSZ (1-4), 54-49, in the other game.
