In the midst of the opposing views of the Department of Information and Technology (DICT) and the Department of Finance (DOF) as to what criteria should be implemented in the selection of the third telco company for the country is Republic Act (RA) No. 7925 otherwise known as the Public Telecommunications Policy Act of 1995 (as amended) and RA No. 10844 of 2016, creating the DICT.
