LA TRINIDAD, Benguet: A mine security officer and member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Class 2001wanted for allegedly stealing almost P2 million in gold was finally captured in a posh island resort in Palawan.
La Trinidad town police on orders of Benguet Regional Trial Court Branch 64 Judge Agapito Laoagan nabbed Raymund Frigillana Rosete, 35, a security officer of Le–panto Consolidated Mining Company (LCMC) in Manka- yan town, Benguet at the Huma Island Resort, Busuanga town in Palawan on June 20. The suspect has been hiding since February.
Rosete, a former assistant security superintendent of LCMC from Aringay town in La Union, was charged with four counts of qualified theft for allegedly stealing P1,709,749 in gold from the company’s mill on five occasions. He was caught in the act by the company’s closed-circuit television cameras.
