• Benguet policemen uproot P9.4-M of marijuana plants


    CAMP BADO DANGWA, LA TRINIDAD,Benguet: The Cordillera Regional Police Office scored anew in its fight against the cultivation of marijuana plants following the destruction of P9.4-worth of marijuana plants in a two-day eradication operation in the province of Benguet. Regional Police Director Isagani Nerez said the operation proves that the police force here has delivered its promise of serving and protecting the community from illegal drugs. All the uprooted marijuana plants were reportedly burned on site although the raiding team brought some with them for evidentiary purposes. Nerez added that Cordillera Police leadership and the respective community teams will continue in its efforts to eradicate marijuana plants and arrest drug cultivators. Nerez also ordered all station commanders to hit hard on policemen and other law enforcement agents who will be found to have links to illegal drug operations.
