• Benguet Town Drug Syndicate Boss Falls

La Trinidad, Benguet: A notorious leader of a drug syndicate operating in Buguias town, northern Benguet province’s trade and business center, fell in a drug-sting operation inside an eatery Monday night. Members of the Buguias Police Office, who are widely criticized for unabated drug trafficking, illegal gambling and flesh trade problems, finally nailed down Agosto Singwa Paayas, 54, a resident of Lower Nakiangan, Tabbacan, Abatan, Buguias. Paayas reportedly sold 46 small heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of shabu pegged at P23,000 to undercover policemen. Cordillera Police Director Isagani Nerez said Paayas is the most active drug pusher in Buguias who “utilizes his house as a drug den and place of drug transactions.” Meanwhile, three minors were caught smoking marijuana at the City Orchidarium in Burnham Park, Baguio City Tuesday midnight. Ronnie Bangsail Valdez, a helper at the Baguio Water District (BWD), apprehended the minors and quickly turned them over to the Tourist Police (TOPCOP) and later to the Women and Child Protection Desk of the police.
