Benjamin Alves is considered as one of GMA Artist Center’s prime actors of this generation.
He has just concluded the station’s primetime drama series Beautiful Strangers where he starred alongside Heart Evangelista, Lovi Poe and Rocco Nacino. And immediately, he works on a new project, which is an independent film set to premiere on next year’s Cinemalaya International Film Festival.
Busy as he is, the Kapuso star doesn’t believe in having too much in his plate for he is also one of the owners of Books and Borders Café in Timog, Quezon City. He is overwhelmed with its promising progress, and is proud to be reaching out to more patrons as they open a new branch at The Fort.
Besides having passion in everything that he does, Benjamin is also a triple threat—handsome, talented, and smart.
While people admire the actor for his looks and impressive acting, it is uncommon knowledge to many that he graduated Summa Cum Laude in the University of Guam with a degree in English Literature.
This drives him to advocate the love for knowledge, and promote the opportunity to excel through proper education.
On December 2, Benjamin was finally given the chance to fulfill his advocacy when he was named the new ambassador of GMA Network Excellence Award.
The GMA Network Excellence Award honors the achievements of graduating Mass Communication and ECE students by recognizing excellence through the demonstration of their leadership, academic performance, and social responsibility.
Since 2001, GMA Network has conferred the Award to a total of 50 graduates from the Network’s partner schools namely University of the Philippines (UP)-Diliman, UP-Cebu, UP-Mindanao, Don Bosco Technical School, and Angeles University Foundation.
“Thank you so much for making me your ambassador for the GMA Network Excellence Award. I can’t wait to talk to our candidates and discover who they really are and what motivates them to strive for excellence,” concluded the GMA actor.
