The “Open Kitchen: Best Kept Recipes of the Stars,” a one-of-a-kind foodie affair featured celebrities work their magic and share delicious products with the Katipunan neighborhood. Held at the was held at the UP Town Center Ampitheather, the three-day event was hosted by The Clean Plate.
The first ever Open Kitchen was formally opened on the night of June 19 with a ceremonial toast led by the proponent of this Event and owner of The Clean Plate, Deo Endrinal together with Ayala Malls executives Ms. Rowena Tomeldan, Vice President and Head of Operations and Support Services, Mr. Mark Sablan, Senior Division Manager, and celebrities Richard Yap, Aiza Seguerra, JC De Vera, Angeline Quinto, Sherilyn Reyes and Cherry Pie Picache. Local actress Dimples Romana hosted the affair and invited all the guests to savor the mouthwatering food of the celebrities.
Among the famed stars who showcased their culinary skills were Judy Ann Santos with her appetizing Dirty Breakfast recipe, Sam Milby and his coffee concoctions at the Third District Café, Vice Ganda’s delectable Rice Ganda, Lovi Poe with her scrumptious pasta and pork buns creations at her EATcetera booth, Aiza Seguerra with a twist of pinoy food at her Adobo in a Jar, and Ava Daza’s Baguettini Gourmet Sandwiches that will leave you craving for more.
Peppered throughout the three-day market were pocket events such as acoustic bands jamming together with Angeline Quinto, KZ Tandingan, Erik Santos, Kyla, Markki Stroem, and The Voice stars Bradley Holmes and Daryl Ong. Television actress and certified chef Judy Ann Santos also did her book selling.
Big names in the showbiz industry also turned up to support their friends and the organizers of Open Kitchen. Among them were ABS-CBN executive Cory Vidanes, Bea Alonzo, Shaina Magdayao, Erik Santos, Maja Salvador, Julia Barretto, Rayver Cruz, Gerald Anderson, Julia Montes, Coco Martin, Paolo Avelino, Angel Aquino, Benjie and Kobe Paras and Jake Cuenca.
Hundreds of people visited UP Town Center to check out what the celebrities have to offer. Long lines snaked around the booths as the stars patiently cooked for and served their eager customers. By night time, most of the stalls have already been sold out. Truly, this gastronomic affair in Katipunan Avenue served as a chance for the community to discover delicious creations of our local stars.
