Bets may face DQ over posters

BAGUIO CITY: The Commission on Elections here warned candidates that oversized election posters can be a ground for disqualification. City Election Supervisor John Paul Martin said they will strictly enforce Resolution No. 10049, the “Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Fair Elections Act for the May 2016 polls” particularly the posting of campaign materials. About a truckload of illegally posted campaign tarpaulins of national bets were removed in Operation Baklas during the first week after the official local campaign period starts. The Fair Elections Act limits the size of the common poster areas to 12 ft. x 16 ft. Independent candidates are only allowed the size of 4 ft. x 6 ft. Anyone can document the violation and send it to the Comelec for action.
