After family and ecstatic fans of global superstars Beyonce Knowles and rapper Jay Z celebrated news of their week-old twins on Father’s Day, they soon went into prayer when a “minor issue” surfaced with the babies, as entertainment website TMZ indicated, “Doctors do not feel comfortable releasing them.”
The birth of the twins—a boy and a girl—was announced on social media on Sunday by Beyonce’s father, Mathew Knowles. The excited grandpa posted on Twitter a digital birthday card announcing, “They’re here!” The card read, “Happy birthday to the twins! Love, Granddad” with hashtags #beyonce #jayz #twins #birthday and #happybirthday.
Although there are debates as to the exact date of twin’s birth, TMZ quoted sources connected with the family that the former member of the group Destiny’s Child’s second delivery happened on June 12 (June 13 in Manila) in a Los Angeles hospital.
The story on the babies’ condition still developing as of late Tuesday, TMZ further said, “We do not know the nature of the issue. One source told us Beyonce remains at the hospital, but as far as we know she’s okay. The babies are expected to be okay as well. It’s unclear when everyone will be released.”
The couple have a five-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
