BI intercepts Australian fugitive


An Australian wanted for molesting a 12-year-old girl in his country was intercepted at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) terminal 3 after he disembarked from a Cebu Pacific from a flight that arrived from Sydney, Australia Tuesday night. Roy Woodward, 39, was immediately picked up by the Immigration Border Monitoring Unit personnel after his name appeared at the immigration database after he presented his passport to the immigration officer. The immigration database said Woodward is on the list of persons being hunted by Australian Interpol. Based on the Interpol alert, the Bureau of Immigration said, was allegedly a sex offender responsible for the abuse of a 12 year-old girl and is reportedly set for sentencing by a local court when he fled to Manila.
