BI recaptures escaped American in Iligan

After a six-day manhunt, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) recaptured escaped American Douglas Brent Jackson in Iligan City. Jackson, who is facing theft charges in the US, escaped a detention facility in Davao City over the weekend by sawing off some window grills. Atty. Elaine Tan, Immigration spokeswoman, said the immigration operatives recaptured Jackson while hiding inside a hotel Iligan City and using the alias Ted Miller. Jackson is now detained at the BI-Bicutan Detention facility pending the implementation of his deportation order. He was issued a summary deportation order on August 29, 2014 for being a fugitive in the USA.
