THE Bureau of Immigration and Deportation (BID) has placed under deportation proceedings nine Chinese nationals who were arrested at the Laoag International Airport for overstaying and without proper documents.
Chen Shiyang, Pen Caimu, Chen Xia Liang, Catmiao Ling, Catshen Ying, Liao Jian Ling, Lu Xiao Bing, Pan Cui Huan, and Shi Sen Sen were arrested last Saturday while about to fly back to China for failure to show their pertinent travel documents.
Paul Verzosa of the BID said two of the Chinese nationals, one of them is pregnant, will be subjected to summary proceedings for overstaying while seven others lacking proper document will undergo regular deportation proceedings.
Meanwhile, Verzosa said an investigation will be conducted on their agents in Laoag City and Manila if there are any among them who are in cahoots with the said Chinese nationals.
He added they have received information that Laoag Airport has become the favorite entry and exit points among illegal aliens in the country.
