Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Carlo Biado settled for the runner-up honors anew, this time in the 2015 Chinook Winds 10-Ball Open held at the Chinook Winds Casino and Resort in Lincoln City in Portland, Oregon.
Biado lost to veteran cue master Rodney Morris of US via a 3-7 decision in the championship match.
Morris bagged the 10,000 top purse while Biado pocketed the $5,000 consolation prize.
The Filipino player made it to the finals by ousting American Jamie Bruce in the first round (7-5), Marc Vidal Claremont of Spain in the second round (7-6) and compatriot Warren Kiamco in the semifinals (7-4).
For his part, Morris went undefeated in the early rounds before blasting Stan Tourangeau of Canada in the semifinals, 7-5, to earn the first ticket to the finals.
Kiamco still earned $1,180.
It was another sorry loss for Biado, who also placed second in the prestigious 2015 World 10-Ball Championship held in General Santos City after absorbing a 9-11 beating at the hands of eventual champion Ko Pin-Yi of Taiwan.
He finished fourth in the 1st Annual Tornado Open Scotch Doubles, seventh in the Gotham City Billiard Club 9-Ball Pro Classic and ninth in 2015 World Cup of Pool.
