Former Muntinlupa Rep. Ruffy Biazon had transactions with non-government organizations (NGOs) run by Janet Lim-Napoles, pork barrel scam witness Merlina Suñas said on Monday.
Suñas was asked by Napoles’ lawyer Dennis Buenaventura if there were other lawmakers who were allegedly involved in the pork barrel scam.
When asked if these other lawmakers included Ruffy Biazon, Suñas paused before asking “for what project po?”
Suñas said Biazon had transactions with Napoles-controlled NGOs from 2007 to 2009.
The anti=graft court’s Fifth Division is hearing the bail petition of Sen. Jose “Jinggoy” Estrada, who is facing plunder charges in connection with the alleged misuse of his Priority Development Assistance Fund or pork barrel.
Earlier, Benhur Luy testified that “Cong. Biazon” was one of their codenames for Estrada, which the senator found “very ridiculous” and “absurd.”
The senator told reporters after the Monday hearing, that the witnesses’ statements are contradicting.
“That just shows how inaccurate their statements were. Ako, naniniwala ako sa testimony ni Suñas na mayroon talagang transaksyon si Congressman at hindi ako ang alias ni ‘Cong. Biazon’ as testified by Benhur Luy,” Estrada said.
