Bicameral panel okays P2.606-trillion budget

THE Bicameral Conference Committee has approved the proposed P2.606-trillion national budget for 2015.

Sen. Francis Escudero, chairman of the Senate Committee on Finance, on Wednesday said there were no changes in allocations proposed by Malacanang.

The committee, however, realigned P72.542 billion, an amount that would have been used to buy out Metro Rail Transit 3 (MRT 3).

The realigned fund will instead go to rehabilitation of disaster-stricken areas and MRT 3.

Escudero said the bicameral discussion on the proposed 2015 General Appropriations Act went smoothly.
