NAGA CITY: The leaders of political families in the Bicol region are starting to line up possible candidates to field in various elective positions in next year’s local and national elections.
Rep. Arnulfo Fuentebella of the 4th District in Camarines Sur will be fielding his son, Tigaon Mayor Arnie Fuentebella against Gov. Miguel Luis Villafuerte.
But the incumbent governor is unfazed by the match up
Villafuerte told The Manila Times that the upcoming political bout would be more exciting compared to the 2013 elections when he ran against his grandfather, former governor Luis Villafuerte Sr.
The Fuentebellas have ruled the fourth district or Partido area in Camarines Sur for 107 years.Arnulfo is the current patriarch of the political clan.
In Sorosogon province, Gov. Raul Lee of United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) will be fielding his son Bobet Lee Robrigueza as his successor.
Bobet Lee is currently serving as provincial administrator of Sorsogon province.
“I am no longer running in any elective position. I believe my son, Bobet Lee Robrigueza is now ready and has the ability to lead this province even better than me,” Governor Lee said.
