Big oil firms hike diesel price


The three biggest oil companies adjusted their pump prices on Christmas eve, a week after cutting the price of diesel.

Chevron, Petron and Pilipinas Shell increased the price of diesel by 10 centavos per liter but cut the cost of kerosene by 15 centavos per liter.

Other oil companies have yet to announce their own price adjustments.

The price movement is the fourth movement for the month.

On December 17, Petron decreased the price of diesel by 55 centavos per liter and increased the cost of gasoline by 40 centavos per liter.

On December 10, oil companies jacked up diesel prices by 30 centavos per liter and kerosene by 55 centavos per liter. On December 3, the price of diesel was increased by P1.35 per liter, kerosene by P1.20 per liter and gasoline by 35 centavos per liter.
