Vice President Jejomar C. Binay has urged the local government leaders to give priority in resolving the perennial flooding in the regions that gravely affected communities and the livelihood of farmers.
Binay aired the appeal during his visit in Nueva Ecija, Bulacan, Aurora, and Pampanga, severely affected by floods caused by typhoon Nona.
He told local leaders to find ways to immediately address the problem, and work closely with the Department of Public Works and Highways.
After visiting Gapan and Cabanatuan City in Nueva Ecija, the Vice President proceeded to San Miguel, Bulacan.
Binay also went to Catarman in Northern Samar on Monday where at least 10,000 people were displaced after Nona hit the province. He also reported that Catarman Airport also suffered structural damage from the strong winds of typhoon Nona.
