Vice President Jejomar Binay has pledged that he would push for the construction of an international airport in Cavite to help decongest air traffic in Metro Manila.
Binay said he would be pushing for the implementation of the project if he is elected a president in the may 2016 polls.
“Kasama sa mga planong ipatutupad ng aking administrasyon ang pagtatayo ng isang international airport dito sa inyong lalawigan. At ito ay magaganap sa ilalim ng aking panunungkulan (Part of the plans of my administration is the construction of an international airport here in your province. And this will happen during my administration),” Binay said.
In his speech at the signing of a covenant agreement with Partido Magdalo in Cavite, he also threw a potshot at the Aquino administration.
“Sa administrasyon ko, hindi na kailangang maghintay pa para ipatupad ang mga programa. (In my administration, you do not have to wait for the implementation of a program.),” said Binay.
“At hindi nagbubulag-bulagan sa kalagayan ng masa. Isang pamahalaan na may malasakit at may kakayanan. Hindi manhid at palpak (And I do not pretend to be blind to the plight of the people. A government that sympathizes with the people and is competent. A government that is not insensitive and a failure),” he added.
